Maleic anhydride

Description

CAS NO.: 108-31-6
Molecular Formula: C4H2O3 Molecular Weight: 99.058
Molecular Structural Formula:
The maleic anhydride, also known as cis-butenedioic anhydride, is a kind of colorless needles, white lumps or pellets with an irritating, choking odor. It’s stable, combustible, incompatible with water. At lower temperature ranging from 60 to 80℃, the maleic anhydride can sublimate. It is soluble in ethanol, ether, and acetone. Mixed with powder, dust and air, it can form into explosive mixture.
The maleic anhydride is industrially manufactured for applications in coatings and polymers.

Here in TallKee Chemical , we manufacture and supply a wide selection of available in high quality to satisfy different requirements from customers around the world.

Main Applications:

The maleic anhydride is usually used for producing polyester resin, alkyd, pesticide, allomaleic acid, paper agents, water treatment chemicals, detergents, insecticides, fungiides, pharmaceuticals, copolymers, etc.
Also, the maleic anhydride is used in lubricating oil additives that serve as dispersants and corrosion inhibitors in gasoine and diesel engine crankcase oils.
Moreover, the cis-butenedioic anhydride can be used in artificial sweeteners and flavour enhancements in food industry. Some personal care products also contain maleic anhydride, such as hair sprays, adhesives, floor polishes, etc.
